15 years of Anyone 4 Science

Some free and fun Science Events
To celebrate what we hope will be the last bank holiday in lockdown, you are invited to join in some free science fun.
Saturday at 10.00am Join us for bubble making – bring water, washing up liquid, some card and a sock….
Sunday at 10.00am – we’re making slime – bring cornflour and water
Monday at 10.00am – the science of skittles – bring a packet of skittles, some water and a few plates.
June 8th is World Crazy Scientist Day.
At Anyone 4 Science we have prizes. All you have to do is dress up as a Scientist, take a selfie, find out a science fact and send your photo and fact to us on our competition page. We are giving away places at our online summer camp – one place for every 100 entries , for the craziest scientists with the most interesting facts
Summer Camp Bookings Now Open!
Booking is now open for our interactive hands-on summer camps via Facebook live or Zoom. You will receive a pack of specialist materials before the camp.Camps will run Monday to Friday with sessions @ 10:00-10:45 and 12:00-12:45. All camp sessions will take place in a closed Facebook group or small private Zoom group for which we will send you an invitation when you book.You can choose from two camp activity programmes, STEM or Harry Potter.
Teen Camp Bookings Now Open!
For our teens we have interactive online Zoom camps each week of July this summer. Kits will be sent to you in advance and sessions run daily from 2pm, Monday to Friday.

Library Collaboration for Cruinniú na nÓg

Astronomy Ireland is a non-profit group for members of the public interested in space. It is the world’s most popular astronomy society per capita. It runs events (lectures, exhibitions, trips worldwide, viewing with telescopes and more) and publishes Astronomy Ireland magazine monthly. They’re across all social media platforms and their website is http://astronomy.ie
International Space Station (ISS) News
There are currently only 3 people in space; 2 Russians and 1 American. They are due to be joined on May 30th by two more Americans. This will be the first time a private company has successfully sent people into space; and the first time since 2011 that the US has had launch capabilities on American soil. If the flight goes ahead it should be visible from Ireland, on Saturday evening around 9.30pm
